Walt Disney World's TRON Lightcycle/Run Review: 6 Things You Need To Know
1. It's This Generation's Space Mountain
Magic Kingdom, possibly more so than the rest of WDW's parks, has a limited amount of thrill rides.
The theme park is designed to be for the whole family, which makes it tough to have some truly scream-worthy attractions for the thrill seekers. So if Disney was going to use its real estate on a thrill ride, then it needed to be good.
TRON Lightcycle/Run is the perfect addition to Magic Kingdom. The swooping canopy doesn't detract from the other architecture in Tomorrowland. Despite being the park's largest expansion since the new Fantasyland thanks to its location within the Tomorrowland, there are no bottlenecks.
Having never seen the TRON movies, I was concerned as to whether that this might hinder my experience of the attraction but it categorically didn't. Disney did a great job of integrating me into the ride and world of TRON with no prior knowledge. I'm sure fans of the movies will be able to spot things that others will miss but that will only enhance their experience rather than cause confusion for others.
TRON Lightcycle/Run blasts you off into the digital world, the way that Space Mountain blasts you into the darkness of space. Just like its Tomorrowland neighbour, TRON is the ideal next step up at the Magic Kingdom for those wanting to try something more thrilling.
TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise is the perfect edition to Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World as a whole and is a must-do experience for guests who love a coaster.
