Watch IN TIME Trailer And See Olivia Wilde Refused A Bus Ride!
20th Century Fox must be pleased with Andrew Niccol's high-concept sci-fi thriller, as one week after Comic Con they have a whole different trailer to showcase!
It's always a good sign when a Hollywood studio is so pleased and excited about one of their forthcoming blockbusters that they just can't wait to show you as much footage from the movie as they can, like a child who has drawn a picture he is proud of and can't wait to show his mommy what he did. Last week at Comic Con, 20th Century Fox gave us some rather nifty posters along with an extended footage reel which showed us large glimpses at half a dozen different scenes that make up Andrew Niccol's highly intriguing sci-fi thriller In Time. They kind of did something similar with X-Men: First Class in the early summer when they got really excited about what they had with that movie (and for the most part, rightfully so) and shoved it down our throats for weeks on end. Despite this method perhaps ruining some of the surprises that's in store for us - there's so much information to absorb and take in with this new In Time trailer with bags of different footage that you are too focused on the detail to worry about plot spoilers and I think they get away with it. Trailer below and if you are wondering who shot this beauty, it's none other than the great Roger Deakins working digitally for the first time!! In Time is set in a universe where time is described as currency as your aging clock stops at 25. In this world the rich are immortal, and the poor struggle to live. That much you could probably workout for yourself from the trailer but what it has greater difficulty explaining is that Justin Timberlake plays a rebel from the ghetto who is wrongly accused of killing a wealthy man to steal his time, forcing him to go on the run with his beautiful hostage (Amanda Seyfried) from the ruthless law enforcement officer named The Timekeeper (Cillian Murphy) chasing him, and his right-hand man (Collins Pennie). That much you might not understand so much but as I say, this trailer works because of it's fascinating detail. Andrew Niccol is a name you should know - he is the writer/director of Gattaca, S1mone, Lord of War and he also wrote the screenplays for The Truman Show and came up with idea of adapting Viktor Navorski's story into The Terminal. He is the ultimate ideas man. Look for this one October 28th but not until November 1st in the U.K. Oh and P.S. - that bus driver who won't give Olivia Wilde a lift despite her not having enough mileage left on the clock to pay for it - that's pretty shitty thing to do man.
