What Next For The MCU After Avengers: Endgame?
4. Sequels, Obviously.
As mentioned earlier in this article, sequels are the bread and butter of Hollywood these days, so it would be stupid to think that the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't going to deliver more than a fair few of them over the next several years.
If you include Infinity War and Endgame as one entry, then the studio's original core franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers all followed the rule of three. Based on that logic it stands to reason that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a follow-up to Spider-Man: Far From Home and a third outing for Ant-Man will all close out their respective franchises.
Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange will all get second outings, rounding out a diverse set of franchises to carry the MCU into a post-Endgame world. If The Eternals or Shang-Chi breaks out in a big way then that only expands the studio's portfolio, while there are some certain well-known characters that Disney recently acquired from Fox that would certainly shake up the studio's plans.
