Wonder Woman 1984 Trailer Review: 8 Ups & 1 Down
6. It's A Lot More Colourful
When you stop to think about it, we've never really had a chance to appreciate the splendour of the Wonder Woman armour in its full colourful glory. The first film had an almost autumnal filter placed over the top of it to give it that crisp, dated look you'd expect from a period piece, while Diana's modern-day appearances in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League were robbed of their colour by that grim presentation of DCEU films (not-to-mention the fact that years of battles had worn away some of the armour's colours).
With the sequel set in 1984, there is no need for either of those filters and, well, let's just say the difference is striking. At long last, we can see the sleek reds and radiating golds as they were always meant to be seen, as the outfit glistens its way through every battle, jump and deflection.
But it isn't just the outfits that benefit from the new time-period, as the colorful '80s aesthetic instils the film with an overwhelmingly vibrant presentation that just gives life to everything that is happening on-screen. A stark contrast to everything we've seen from Wonder Woman's films so far - and one that will undoubtedly set WW84 apart.
