5. Our First Introduction To Max Lord

The trailer may have introduced us to Wiig's Barbara Ann Minerva, but it also allowed us to briefly meet its other villain in Max Lord.

A business tycoon who knows exactly how to work the media, he's known for his informercials - which make use of the era's advancing technology - and, from what we can see, Pedro Pascal's appropriately charismatic performance gives the character that almost slippery-like persona that we crave from a power-hungry villains.

We still don't know much about his motivations right now, but if he's anything like his TV variation in Supergirl, he won't have any problem using his technology to get what he wants. And that makes him a refreshingly different villain from the first film's hate-thirsty god.
