Wonder Woman Movie: 10 Signs It Might Actually Be Good

10. It Will Have A Unique Setting

Wonder Woman is not going to be a sequel to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In fact, if one popular rumour is to be believed, it will be an origin story for the character with a setting vastly different to any comic book movie before it. A Wonder Woman period piece? That's said to be the plan as it will apparently be set in the 1920s, with the Amazonian leaving her home on Paradise Island (which consists solely of strong female warriors) to arrive in a world where women have only just got the vote. This information actually lines up with a report which claimed that Lex Luthor will be obsessed with a mysterious woman - Diana Prince - who has been photographed for decades, but somehow never ages. The first half of Wonder Woman will apparently be set entirely on Paradise Island as warring Amazonian factions fight for dominance, only for a pilot - Steve Trevor or possibly a newly created character - to crash land and ultimately ask the hero for help back in his world. Captain America: The First Avenger tackled World War II, but still featured a lot of sci-fi elements. Wonder Woman on the other hand has the opportunity to be the first superhero movie to tackle an entirely different setting in a realistic way, and it will be interesting to see how the character's presence in that time period ultimately changes the world's history.
