1. 3D & IMAX
No, I'm not an advocate of 3D, and most of the time, I'm with the rest of the marching band slagging it off, because directors don't spend enough time post-converting it (or, you know, actually shooting it in 3D), instead serving up half-assed slop that looks exactly the same whether you're wearing glasses or not. But just think about it; doesn't this world so totally suit the 3D treatment? The expansive vistas and landscapes, the crazy creatures, the flying scenes and the epic battles; wouldn't they all look spectacular in 3D if executed right? And how do we make it even more awe-inspiring? Give it the IMAX treatment, of course, and given how dedicated the fanbase is to this product, bang out some enticing trailers and you can guarantee that the nerds will all be going to see it on the biggest screen possible. We're not saying that Duncan Jones is going to make the next Avatar here or anything, but he has the potential to make an extremely potent and alluring fantasy film that defies convention if he gets it right.
