2. An Epic Scope

Again, it should be something of a given, but never underestimate directors making these sorts of movies to completely miss the obvious. The Warcraft movie needs an epic story to suit its epic setting, one that takes us all over the vast world that the game's designers and developers have spent years honing and refining. We want to see all around Azeroth, including the newer continents such as Northrend and Pandaria that have been added with recent expansion packs. How does Jones do this? It should follow pretty naturally; the nature of the narrative has players trawling the world in the pursuit of quests, and typical fantasy fare involves a lot of travelling. Just ensure to keep it fresh and entertaining, while giving players some real-life glimpses of the worlds they've so far only been able to glimpse in relatively rudimentary graphics (come on, the engine is pretty old now) on a computer screen. We need an epic scope projected onto the cinema screen that makes it worth going out for, and there are two ways to accentuate that further...
