X-Men: Apocalypse - 9 Major Characters Who Could Die

Like Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence's X-Men contract will run out with Apocalypse. And, like Fassbender, Lawrence is busier than ever - much busier than she was back in 2011 when she first signed on - and making obvious moves into more serious, dramatic work.

If Lawrence, like Fassbender, is finding her schedule no longer allows time for franchise fare (remember, she may be feeling more over-worked than ever having just completed The Hunger Games saga as well), the X-Men creative team may have to find a way to write Mystique out of the movies.

Don't forget that Lawrence, along with Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult, were added to the X-Men series as the 'new blood' of First Class; in Apocalypse, the characters they play (they're now in their 40s) are - by Hollywood standards - old hat, and the fresh crop of youngsters playing Cyclops, Jean Grey and co. are the new new blood. 20th Century Fox look to be setting up a fresher team to replace some of the old guard.
