X-Men: Days Of Future Past - 10 Questions The Movie Must Answer

5. Where Are The Other Mutants?

X-Men: The Last Stand There are a ton of mutants. Far too many to fit them all into a two-hour long movie (or several two hour long movies for that matter) without things feeling ridiculously cramped and confusing. Hence, over the years we've been treated to all types of cameos. This can be both a good and a bad thing. Sometimes we get a quick glimpse of a character we'd all love to see but we thought we wouldn't (like the Sentinels -at least until recently), though sometimes we end up wishing one of those cameos would have been bumped up to a full appearance, which has occasionally happened (see: Kitty Pride). The problem with all those cameos is that sometimes a mutant is briefly glimpsed, only to be used in a later film only as a completely new character with little or no relation to the one we've already seen. Three people have portrayed Shadow Cat. Two played Pyro. Beast, Emma Frost, and Sabertooth have both been featured multiple times, and most of these appearances have conflicted with one another. But perhaps the worst part of a cameo like this is knowing that your favorite character is out there somewhere, especially when they could have been of use. Like, where has Gambit been all this time? Or Havok? Or Banshee? And don't get me started on Nightcrawler (yes, I know they 'explained' his absence in the X2 video game, and no, that was not a good enough reason). Will we be treated to more cameos? In all likelihood, given all the new mutants joining the roster, I just don't see how they could end up with a fair amount of screen time.
