X-Men Days Of Future Past: 20 Big Questions That Still Need Answers
9. How Large Scale Will The Action Be?
The X-Men series has always felt smaller-scaled in terms of its action than what's seen in the comics. As one of the earliest comic book films, Singer has always attempted to keep the franchise from becoming overly comic-booky. But regardless, he's said this is the biggest film he's ever done. So action-wise this may be the grandest X-Men of them all. Fans will finally be getting Sentinels and it'll be a fan's dream come true if Singer brings a 'mutants vs. Sentinels' fight to life the way it's depicted on the page the Sentinels are very hard to take down so it'll have to be a team effort. Seeing mutants work as a team to take down Sentinels sounds like the biggest set piece thus far in an X-Men film, and with it being reported that the last 25% of this film will be pure action it certainly makes for an exciting prospect.
8. Will Rogue Be In It?
Earlier it was reported that Rogue (Anna Paquin) was cut out of the film completely. However, Singer has suggested that Paquin may actually still appear in the film in some capacity, but it's unfortunate that Rogue who's a major character in the comics and a much-loved one at that has to land on the cutting room floor. It's understandable scenes have to be cut and everyone isn't going to get equal screen time. But Rogue like Cyclops seems to have gotten the shaft in this franchise. She's never flown or gotten a stand out action sequence, and it's sad that she might have to go by the wayside before this happens. The sequence Rogue was to appear in sounds important to the film as well a rescue mission involving her, Bobby Drake/Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) and Magneto. This sequence likely shows the lives of mutants in captivity, which would add some gravitas to the film. Singer said it will appear on the DVD but it sounds like too good of a sequence not to be seen in theatres.
