X-Men: 9 Things That Must Happen In The Next Film
4. No More Quicksilver Set Pieces
Undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable scenes in X-Men: Days Of Future Past is the scene in which Quicksilver disarms a room full of guards in the blink of an eye set to the tune of Jim Croce's Time In A Bottle. It's a hilarious scene, one that was then replicated in Apocalypse.
That scene was great too, seeing Quicksilver saving dozens of students from the X-Mansion before it exploded. But, of course, it paled in comparison to the original, seeing how it was exactly the same shtick, but it was still a decent sequence (though many are of the opinion that it was nothing but pandering, and that's fair). A third time, however, would be far too much.
Quicksilver is a fantastic hero with a ton of potential, but it's time to change up how he appears. There doesn't have to be a humorous slow motion scene set to catchy music for him to be an important, entertaining part of the team.
Moving forward, the writer's biggest challenge will be writing the character in such a way as to avoid people wondering why he "didn't just do X" in order to save everybody, but that's what they need to do.
