X-Men: 9 Things That Must Happen In The Next Film

2. We've Got To Spend More Time In The X-Mansion

X Men Sequel
20th Century Fox

Despite X-Men: Apocalypse giving audiences a bunch of new, young mutants to root for, we spent comparatively little time in the X-Mansion, one of the most interesting locations in the entire franchise.

In Apocalypse we see a few snippets of class, a couple moments in the grounds and a bunch of people bullying Jean Gray (which is odd given how most people at the school were probably bullied for being different in their normal lives). But honestly, more of the X-Mansion would be even better.

It's totally fertile ground for developing the characters and their relationships: seeing the older X-Men act as teachers would be a fantastic way of progressing their characters in a fresh way, and seeing how the younger X-Men learn and fit into a school environment would show us character nuances and ultimately make the audience care. Spending a bunch of time there also allows for personal conflicts and obstacles to develop, making for an altogether more satisfying narrative.
