Well, at least it's not a new problem. From the dawn of pixels to the introduction of 'must have' 4K TVs and PS4 Pros, the gaming industry - like any other entertainment focused medium - needs to keep you entrenched in a constant cycle of hype.

Unprecedented graphics, "unique ways to play", a "different experience every time" - we've all heard these sentences trudged out year after year like some automated PR bot, yet thankfully, sometimes the final product does in fact come together.

On the other hand, when everyone is watching your game unfold, all it takes is a few key missteps to completely mess up that final hurdle, face-planting the floor for the whole world to see.
