10 Absolute Worst Pokémon - Ranked

7. Klefki

Garbador Trubbish
The Pokémon Company

Welcome to 2013, the year that imagination died. Klefki is another unfortunate product of Game Freak's 'Voltorb Syndrome', a terrible affliction that cripples the mind's ability to conjure even the mildest of abstract thoughts.

That's not to say using real-world objects as a basis for creating fictional creatures in a video game is lazy - that would relegate a majority of the series' Pokedex to the same trash heap that Klefki belongs to - but good lord, where's the creativity?

Even the basic Gen I starters, which are oh-so-clearly based on real and mythical creatures, are distinguished from their inspiration by way of the series' trademark stylistic flourish, but that's difficult to achieve when your inspiration is duller than a doorknob.

Bizarre, considering there's already a wealth of evidence that proves Game Freak knows how to take the mundane and make it shine with a sprinkle of Pokemagic.
