10 Absurdly Hard Games You Never Beat
6. Super Meat Boy Forever
Super Meat Boy feels like the most unbeatable platformer imaginable, since every level involves tiny platforms, moving hazards, and instant-death mechanics. On top of that, there are no checkpoints.
To be fair, players can conquer Super Meat Boy if they take their time with each section and memorise the patterns of the obstacles. It may take a long time but players should be improving on every playthrough, allowing them to prevail if they stick with it.
Too bad that strategy goes out the window with Super Meat Boy Forever. This time around, the levels are randomly generated, meaning players can't memorise the placement of platforms or booby traps. Because of this, they'll need to take their time and plan carefully before moving onto each section.
Unfortunately, that ship has sailed as well. Super Meat Boy Forever is an auto-runner, so you have no time to strategise, only react. Unless you have the reaction time of a heavily caffeinated fly, you're not going to get far.
Super Meat Boy faced criticism for its unfair demand, but it's a walk in the park compared to its hardcore sequel.
