10 Amazing Ideas Wasted On Terrible Video Games

8. A Multiplayer Heist Mode - Kane And Lynch

Kane and Lynch 2
Square Enix

The Kane and Lynch series crashed and burned, but you can't say it didn't at least try to do something new. Casting you as two abhorrent criminals on the run from the law, the two flawed titles threw everything at the wall in the hopes of becoming the next big shooter, but unfortunately they didn't have the fundamentals nailed down enough to capture an audience as big as Square Enix wanted.

The series did have a cracking multiplayer suite though, featuring a bunch of players teaming up to pull off a heist and trying to get away with as much money as possible. The twist was, however, that you could turn on your team at any moment and attempt to take all the money for yourself. Whether you were playing with friends or randoms, there was a sense of fear in every match around if - or when - you were going to be turned on.

Of course, neither Kane and Lynch game had good enough gunplay to support this great idea, and no other release has really picked up the idea since.
