Fable II is where Lionhead Studios (now defunct) flexed its prowess as a video game developer and created something that truly resembled an old-school, fantasy role-playing game that would never be forgotten.

Unfortunately, Fable III failed miserably to live up to its predecessor.

There were many reasons why it didn't deliver, such as its lacklustre story pacing, frustratingly bad inventory management and so on. While its flaws are noticeable at every turn, it did possess a certain charm in its distinct delivery of humour - much like the previous instalments.

This is most apparent in the amazingly weird questline where the player must dress in an outrageous chicken costume while hysterically darting around chasing chickens and returning them to one of two NPCs - Bernard or Patsy - depending on whether the feathered creatures live or die.

This is but the first quest, with the following one featuring a laughable chicken race where the player must place on a bet on the animal they are backing to win.

Fable III may have its flaws, but it certainly knew how to craft bizarre and humorous events to partake in.
