10 Amazing Moments From The Worst Video Games
9. Iluzija - Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil 5 was a major downgrade on the previous entry to the franchise and the sixth instalment promised to return the series back to the height of its former glory days, but successfully managed to not do so.
Three of its four protagonists - Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Ada Wong - were franchise staples and made their return while newcomer Jake Muller also starred.
The game took a vastly different approach, opting to intertwine narratives and boldly take it in a new direction while discarding many of its previous tropes and its classic survival horror themes. This ultimately undermined its credibility as a 'true' Resident Evil entry because it scarcely felt like one, even if all the ingredients were still there.
The one moment that almost encapsulated the magic of the older entries was a certain boss battle with Iluzija, a serpentine creature that could barely be seen.
Its invisibility-like qualities allowed some sense of dread and terror to sink deep within the player as they realised they could only see it when it opened its mouth up before an attack, offering a sole moment that truly felt like Resident Evil.
