10 Amazing Perks Of Being A Game Developer Nobody Talks About

5. Working With People Who Love It Just As Much As You

Hello Games

Hey, watch this one video”, you say, “...it’s super-hilarious!”

And then the person watches it, half-heartedly nods a few times, then does something else.

As your heart breaks a little bit, you wonder to yourself, “why do other people have no taste? No passion? Am I the only one with any sense here? Why does nobody laugh at that video of the old man on fire?”

It’s difficult when people don’t share the same level of involvement or passion as you. In most situations, this is likely to be the case, with a few exceptions - Old Firm matches, chocolate factory tours, and working in a game studio.

People that work in the games industry always have an electric personality, especially when talking to them about games and game development. Have you ever found a likeminded person who, upon talking to them about the thing you’re both passionate about, you both get louder and louder, eventually ending up whooping like giddy children?

Most people love making games just as much as I do - and that’s just great. I just wish more people enjoyed my videos.
