It's not particularly surprising that San Andreas would be so crawling with restless spirits, given the amount of untimely deaths that have occurred across the state. Just the poor NPCs that get mowed down by the player character during an average rampage sessions would provide more hauntings than the entirety of Amityville, apparently the most haunted place in the world. According to the books, anyway. There are countless urban legends and myths pertaining to haunted locations across all of the Grand Theft Auto games, but the most compelling one so far is Blaine County Motel in the most recent title. An abandoned motel located in Sandy Shores, the building cuts a chilling figure in a derelict area of the town, mostly boarded up and gutted of all furnishings and decoration. Only a handful of rooms through Blaine County Motel are accessible, and is mostly populated with bums and drug addicts. Sometimes strange noises can be heard, however, such as knocking, scraping and worst of all crying babies. All entirely inexplicable thus far. And all incredibly creepy, obviously. Never head out to Sandy Shores after dark alone.
