10 Amazing Video Games You'll Never Get To Play
9. Blizzard's Titan
What it was meant to be: The second instance of Blizzard dipping its toes into the MMO market. Titan was, of sorts, a project kickstarted by uncertainty over how long it's existing MMO World of Warcraft would last. Described as a class-based shooter, progression would be tied to earning skill points and unlocking new abilities for each class via skill trees.
The last we ever heard of the fledgeling IP was via Kotaku, which, by way of anonymous sources, revealed that Titan would have taken place on a near-future Earth where the player would "maintain a mundane job—butchering, engineering, entrepreneurship—during the day, while waging clandestine warfare against opposing factions at night."
Why you'll never play it: As per an interview with Rolling Stone, Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan touched on the MMO's troubled development and how a collection of art assets and ideas created for the title eventually formed some of the building blocks for Overwatch.
The shooter's mascot Tracer, for example, started life as Titan's Jumper class, only without the thick English accent and cheery demeanour.
Titan very well could have been Overwatch with MMO elements. Whether that would have proven to be even more popular than the reality, who knows, but it would be a treat to see how Blizzard had envisioned the defunct addition to its big three franchises.
