10 Announced Video Games That Mysteriously Disappeared
3. Six Days In Fallujah
Military shooters have been a hot property in video games for some time. The dramatic rise of franchises like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty proved this, as they rode that wave and became huge success stories.
With the World War II setting being more than a little played out in the FPS arena, titles are looking beyond that scope to bring us historical realism. One such game is Six Days in Fallujah, which aims to tell the tale of the Iraq War through the eyes of the soldiers who fought there.
Destineer/Atomic Games’ shooter was the subject of controversy from its late 2000s announcement and has been blighted by several other issues since. The difficulty of finding a publisher, the ambition and cost of the project, Konami backing away from such sensitive content, Six Days in Fallujah was a title that aimed to tell the very human stories of conflict and loss. Stories those who took part want to be shared.
Will they ever get a chance to do so? The game’s future, if it has one, is still hard to predict.
