But the worst offender does something that none of these other nuisances can lay claim to: they actually break the game by somehow hacking into it and shifting the established rules in their favour. In one of my matches the other night, a player was seemingly impervious to any bullet I or anyone else fired at him, resulting in a lobby full of annoyed players, who all subsequently reported him to Sony. One of the most famous hacks is a "lag switch", a device which allows players to interrupt their own Internet traffic flow for a very brief period, allowing them to freely shoot at others players, who will appear frozen on the screen, while not allowing any players to shoot at themselves. Therefore when the connection corrects itself, you'll have racked up a few easy kills. At least the hackers are obvious and can be easily reported, all the more so now with the PS4's ability to record gameplay. But the major point here is that it's something that should only be done in private matches, because otherwise you're just wasting people's time. Are there any annoying CoD players I missed?
