10 Annoying Side-Kicks Who Almost Spoiled Great Games

10. The Adoring Fan - Oblivion

Fair praise is a wonderful thing - it can make the most miserable of days feel an awful lot better, and celebrities will no doubt confirm that it's the quickest route to an ego boost in an otherwise cynical world. The idea of fans in video games is a relatively unexplored avenue, with Fable exploring the idea of making people fan in love with you by juggling and pulling faces, or by boasting about your testicular fortitude and exploits, but very little else. And there is a reason for this... He's called The Adoring Fan - a yellow-haired man-child with a creepy smug grin plastered on his face who follows the Grand Champion around the game, fawning and offering his "help," with anything from boot-shining to back-rubs. He's of very little actual help when enemies appear however, running off at the slightest sign of danger - and his sycophancy gets very old very quickly, thanks to his drivveling dialogue, and the idiotic happy look on his face. This guy is precisely why fanboys get a bad name. Quite marvellously, there seems to be a community online dedicated to killing the Adoring Fan in increasingly creative ways... http://youtu.be/gbU_YqGZF5Y
