10 Annoying Side-Kicks Who Almost Spoiled Great Games

8. Fi - Skyward Sword

I'm not sure what it is about Link that makes him a magnet for annoying side-kicks - even without the perennially suggested Navi on this list, two other "helpers" from Legend of Zelda games appear - and the green-wearing Hylian has done very little to deserve it. Endlessly questing, in the service of a damsel in distress no less, Link should reasonably be a knight of the realm by now, and yet he is "rewarded" instead by the creation of new side-kicks more annoying than the ones who came before. Looking like a creepy blue porcelain doll wearing a cape made of garish curtains and fish-net tights, Fi definitely serves a purpose in the game - replacing Navi as Link's guide, and generally helping out whether you want her to or not - but she is so repetitious that she grates almost immediately. Added to that is that fact that her helpful tips are compulsory, and that she pipes up every time you collect something, or your low on battery power, or you get a new dowsing target, with her annoying little chirp, which you can't switch off. I know she's helpful, but if she had to be included as a glorified tutorial aid, Nintendo should of at least made the level of her interference optional. And then there's her auto-tuned, backwards sounding voice, that is horribly reminiscent of Rebecca Black's "Friday" abomination. That might be the worst thing of all. http://youtu.be/a9d7cDWcZDo
