10 Annoying Video Game Boss Fights Everyone Skips

5. Yiazmat - Final Fantasy XII

To be polite, Final Fantasy XII's final Elite Mark Yiazmat can just get in the bloody bin.

Like a lot of the series' superbosses, even reaching Yiazmat takes a Herculean level of effort in of itself, but preserving through the actual fight is a resolve-shattering exercise beyond compare.

Yiazmat has an eye-watering 50 million HP - though the Zodiac Age remaster included a nerfed version of the fight - and as such the battle can take even skilled players several hours to complete.

Beyond Yiazmat's absurd amount of health, it has a non-zero chance of insta-killing your party members and will throw up defenses mid-fight which limit the damage of your attacks.

It is a textbook example of a video game pointedly chastising the player, and unless you've got a lot of free time you really want to waste, it's just not worth it.

Though you get 30,000 gil and the Godslayer's Badge - which can be used to unlock one of the game's strongest weapons, the Wyrmhero Blade - for your trouble, that's not nearly enough to compensate for both the time spent and mental anguish it takes to fell this thing.
