10 Annoying Video Game Moments That Made You Turn The Console Off

7. Being Forced Back To An Old Save In Dead Rising

Although you could have just written off the early Dead Rising games as basic zombie-killing simulators, they actually introduced a wealth of interesting ideas that kept the franchise's repetitive gameplay fresh and interesting.

The structure of the campaign was particularly inspired, giving you a series of missions that you had to balance with the free-roaming zombie smashing fun. Get too distracted and let the clock run down and you could miss out on entire missions that lock you out from the game's ending, but jump into them unprepared and you could suffer the same fate.

However while this was an interesting choice in itself, the series' insistence that you could only save at specific points around the map meant that you could royally mess up hours of progress with one measly mistake.

Whether that was a death or losing a mission (and therefore an ending) because of the timer and having to reload a save from hours ago, it always ensured that you wouldn't be touching the game for at least a few days afterwards.
