10 Awesome Cancelled Video Games From Famous Franchises
7. Warcraft Adventures: Lord Of The Clans
Kids these days could almost be forgiven for assuming that Warcraft wasn't really a thing until World of Warcraft changed the face of the industry forever, but the dominant MMO would never have existed if it wasn't for the popularity of its strategy-game predecessors.
Aiming to branch out from Warcraft's RTS tradition, Lord of the Clans was a typically 90s-style point-and-click adventure that cast players as a wise-cracking orc. The substantial amount of footage available from the game shows it to have beautiful animations and a great sense of humour, worthy of competing with the Monkey Islands and Sam & Maxs of the time.
The game was pretty much ready to go, but delays in development and the release of the impressive 3D-animated Grim Fandango made Blizzard conclude that the game felt dated and that they'd missed the boat on releasing it.
Dunno about you, but to me that visual style is timeless compared to Fandango's 'stuck in the 90s' vibe (no offence, Manny).
