10 Awesome Features In Truly Terrible Video Games
2. Four Campaigns In One - Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil 4 had taken the series in an incredible new direction. Resident Evil 5 wasn't that great, but it was still solid. Resident Evil 6 smells worse than a zombie rotting away in the Georgia heat. Gone are the good old days of survival horror, and now we've got Micheal Bay styled action scenes and explosions. There's no real feeling of fear, just shoot the enemy, transfer to the next segment, and repeat.
But the plot is fascinating, and that's because of the intersecting narratives. You will play three separate campaigns: Leon, Chris, and Jake, with the fourth bonus campaign available later where you play as Ada.
Each campaign also has its own style: Leons focuses on semi-survival horror, Chris is more action-based, Jake has a nemesis-styled beast that hunts you down, and Ada is stealth-based.
All four of the campaigns have moments where the characters come together and connect with each other before they return to their sperate paths. One specific point is later in Leon and Jake's campaigns, where they encounter and have to fight off the creature that has been hunting down Jake, only to be separated after the fight. It's just one of the wonderful moments brought on by the fascinating stories.
Thankfully, after this game, Capcom returned to their survival horror roots with Resident Evil 7.
