6. Amped 3
It's hard to come across snowboarding games actually worth a damn outside of the SSX franchise, but Indie Built's Amped 3 totally outdoes its predecessors by boasting bigger and better
everything. The levels are that much larger, there's more customisation on offer - both with map customisation and also the ability to use a snowmobile, sled and even a hand-glider - as well as a varied soundtrack, and a generally more free-wheeling, comic style that makes the whole thing feel a lot more fun than the previous entries into the series. The idiosyncratic style is totally what distinguishes it from the typically more serious-minded SSX games; there are some utterly barmy challenge levels here, and the most trippy, surreal cut-scenes you'll likely ever see in a snowboarding title. It's easy to pick up, progressively challenging, and on the whole just a great way to spend (more than) a few hours.
