10 Awful Horror Movies That Would Make Awesome Video Games

3. Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter

Jesus Of The Dead

The Movie: If you haven't seen this, go watch it now. I'm sure you can download it. It's about Jesus, obviously. But, in this reality he comes back to life to combat an army of lesbian zombies. This shining example of underground Canadian film is a mix between softcore porn, horror movie, gore movie, Kung-Fu movie, and comedy. You really should just quit reading and watch it. It's worth it to see Jesus go toe to toe with atheists, agnostics, Jews, and vampires. Where it Gets Awful: There's such a thing as too ironic. Not every second of every scene in your movie needs to be an inside joke or jab at religion masked in a jab at modern horror. Sometimes it's just overwhelming, and the makers of this flick crossed that line and then some. At some point in the movie it moves from clever, ironic comedy, to painstakingly slow, overindulgent indie crapola. It's really sad. The Game: I want to start by saying (typing) that the game would make up for the failings and then some. While the movie went from Kung-Fu classic to over thought excuse to say "lesbian vampire" on film in under 15 minutes, the game would stick with the action roots all the way to the end. I'd propose a martial arts based vampire fighting game that gave itself no time to think. As the Messiah, you can assume that Jesus has some pretty serious Kung-Fu moves, and that he knows exactly how to use them without the button mashing craziness of a modern fighter game like Mortal Kombat 30 - whatever number they are on. So, that's out. However, the movie lent itself to a brawler pretty well, seeing as how 4-seat sedans seemed to be filled with hundreds of nun-chuck toting atheists hungry for Body of Christ. It's been more than a long while since either console or PC has had a decent brawler to latch on to, and using a recognizable figure in an easily understood story (you know, like Jesus fighting vampire lesbians) might be just what we need.
