10 Awful Video Games That Almost Everybody Plays
8. The Sims
The idea of customising a bunch of characters, designing them a house and shoving them inside to revel in the resulting chaos has always been the central appeal of The Sims franchise. With each new instalment, more and more creative options have become available; many others have been slowly stripped away, including terrain tools and other staples of the series.
In fact, it was estimated that over seventy-five features were removed from the most recent instalment of the series, The Sims 4.
Not only has the series greatly depreciated in value over the years, but it was honestly never that great to begin with. It can be fun recreating your own family and friends, drowning them in the swimming pool or denying them food, but that's about all the games have ever had to offer. They're not detailed enough to be called simulations, and the lack of actual interaction means they can only barely be called games.
It's a chore sometimes even getting your Sims to go to the toilet, so I'm not entirely sure what players get out of the games. With that said, The Sims continues to be one of the most popular gaming franchises on the planet, played by millions across the globe.
