10 Beloved Cult Classic Video Games That Desperately Deserve Sequels

6. Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

A controversial choice as, strictly speaking, this is a sequel to the immensely successful Jedi Knight series that saw gamers take control of former Imperial come self-taught Jedi Kyle Katarn on his journey to becoming a fully fledged Jedi Knight. However, Academy really is a standalone title in its own right.

Taking over the mantle from Katarn was his student, Jaden Korr, who the player could customise across several species and appearances. I know you all chose the scantily clad Twi’lek and I won’t dwell on it because there’s too much to say.

Mission after mission of sheer brilliance ensued as you swung your lightsaber, tossed thermal detonators, and picked off Stormtroopers with your trusty DL-44 en route to taking down the evil Sith, Marka Ragnos.

This game even had an attempt at online multiplayer long before Battlefront dipped its toe in the water, and the lightsaber physics have never been truly equaled. How Lucasarts could leave the series here is beyond me – the Force was definitely with this title and even a half baked sequel would do, just anything to make the cravings go away.
