10 Beloved Cult Classic Video Games That Desperately Deserve Sequels
7. Pokémon Snap
A game that asked you to take photographs: that’s all it was. Just some research photographs for kind, old Professor Oak who, despite being a Pokémon Expert, needs photographic evidence of their existence to study and learn more about them – sounds a bit dodgy when you think about it. But we took the photos all the same and we loved it.
Taking on the unfamiliar role of Todd Snap (conveniently a photographer) and using a multi-purpose vehicle named Zero-ONE, we traveled through the Kanto region in style, taking photographs of everything from a sassy Pikachu to the legendary foetal-cat, Mew.
Sadly, there were only seven levels and only 63 of the original 151 to catch on film, but it was enough of a fix to keep us content time after time in pursuit of the highest scores – I myself captured a perfect Mew shot and it is listed it on my CV under ‘Personal Achievements’.
Now we need more, and we have the technology for more. The only thing standing in our way is the platform for more – pull your finger out Nintendo and give us what we want!
