10 Best Dungeons In The Legend Of Zelda Franchise
1. Stone Tower Temple
Not unlike Breath Of The Wild, Majora’s Mask isn’t really about the dungeons. The real focus of the game is on the characters inhabiting Termina, their hopes and fears and regrets. It’s also about a great big moon destroying the world.
However - crucially, Majora’s Mask can boast the all time greatest Zelda dungeon, the Stone Tower Temple. In the heart of Ikana Canyon, this dungeon is the culmination of one of the greatest segments of any Zelda game.
The tower puts all of Link’s skills to the test. He must utilise the Goron, Zora, and Deku forms, run through his oeuvre of ocarina ditties, and even do battle with death itself in the form of a grim reaper mini boss.
Best of all, midway through he is forced to leave the temple, and use a light arrow to turn the entire place on its head.
Stone Tower Temple is immaculately designed, from its visuals (statues within resemble Majora’s mask) to its haunting, morbid score. It’s the culmination of one of the greatest Zelda adventures, climaxing with a giant Link battling two colossal insects in a perilous desert. Perfection.
