10 Best Ever Console Launch Titles In Gaming History

7. Condemned - Xbox 360

While Microsoft managed to get a real foothold in the console wars with the original Xbox, there is no disputing the fact that the console ended up playing second fiddle to Sony's all-conquering PS2.

With the 360 Microsoft decided that the most important thing was to get in first, which led to a launch lineup that lacked any real killer apps, unless you include the rather disappointing Perfect Dark Zero to be worth parting with your cash for.

The lineup wasn't a complete bust though. While the majorly hyped games like Kameo and the aforementioned adventures of Joanna Dark fell by the wayside, Monolith Productions produced a game that deserves far more attention than it receives.

In Condemned: Criminal Origins gamers had a launch title that was never going to be able to appeal to everyone, yet still delivered an absolutely stellar slice of gaming.

The levels of tension that this game could create when it was on top form were amazing and it generated quite the buzz when it was first released, without ever exploding in popularity. If nothing else, it was most certainly the pick of the bunch in the 360 launch lineup.

Unfortunately, despite being followed up by a decent sequel, the series has fallen by the wayside in recent years.
