10 Best Fan Service DLC Packs In Video Games
1. Mass Effect 3: Citadel DLC
Potentially the first DLC that comes to mind when you combine the idea of add-on content with fan service is Mass Effect 3’s Citadel DLC, which was so good it actually managed to undo a certain amount of fan ire generated from the ending.
Mass Effect fans know the game has never been about particularly smooth combat, it’s about the sprawling game worlds and the relationships you form with the characters you meet in them.
Whether these are companions you carry through multiple titles, your Shepard’s love interest, or returning NPCs you meet along the way, these connections are the heart and soul of the epic sci-fi trilogy and the Citadel DLC just lets you spend a lot more time with them. There’s sordid romance options, Tali singing karaoke, Grunt shenanigans, drinking, dancing, hilarity, pull-up competitions, a charming group photo, and more joy than you can shake an omni tool at. It’s a wonderful break from the intensity of the Reaper threat in the base game, and it’s an absolute blast. Good luck getting that smile off your face.
If you just want to feel really good I will absolutely not judge you for turning off the game once you finish Citadel - it can be canon for us.
