3. Card Shark

Syberia the world before
Serial

With card-playing video games like Hearthstone, Magic: The Gathering Arena, and Legends of Runeterra dominating the genre, it feels like any new title doesn't stand a chance.

Thankfully, Card Shark caught everyone's interest, due to one key difference in the card-playing department: You can cheat.

In fact, that's the whole premise. To ensure victory while playing against the gambling elite, your character must become a master at card manipulation. To guarantee you or your partner get an ace at the ideal time, you need to synchronise your movements perfectly, or risk being exposed as a con artist. The more often you scam, the more likely you'll win. But the more often you scam, the more you risk getting caught.

Even though Card Shark has a brilliant premise, it would be nothing more than a gimmick if the rest of the gameplay wasn't up to standard. Thankfully, every aspect of Card Shark is magnificent. Due to scribbly design and antique-like aesthetic, it looks anything but generic.

The soundtrack is filled with magnificent pieces by legendary composers, including Bach, Debussy, de Saint-Georges, and... other musicians most people never heard of.

If you buy this unappreciated treasure, you're guaranteed to have a blast... but only if you literally play your cards right.
