7. Maskmaker
It's great seeing indie games taking a crack at the VR industry, especially when they're this mesmerising and joyous to play. Available on PlayStation and Steam, you play an apprentice to the Maskmaker, Prospero, whose masks transport the wearer to vivid worlds of imagination.
Maskmaker is a truly spectacular experience: it makes full use of the VR format through captivating puzzles and an intricate crafting system. The mask-making process is extremely gratifying, with super-responsive levers, switches, and tools to mould the correct mask for each world you must enter.
The worlds themselves burst with enjoyable puzzles and stunning landscapes, while the fantastical fairy-tale narrative expertly peppers clues to the Maskmaker somewhat tragic backstory.
It's obvious from Maskmaker's wonderful adventure that this isn't developer Innerspace's first VR enterprise. The Paris-based studio is already known for the award-winning A Fisherman's Tale and have also worked with BBC VR Hub to create a Dr Who VR experience.
If you're looking to get the best use out of your Oculus, Vive, or whatever VR headgear choice, then Innerspace's catalogue is a great starting point for excellent entertainment.
