Bringing Marvel into the Lego world was never going to be an easy task. Arriving as the MCU was starting to reach the height of its popularity, there was going to be a lot of high expectations for this game.

However, the genius of this game is that it didn't lean on the MCU at all.

Instead, TT decided to focus on the classic Stan Lee and Steve Ditko era of Marvel. This meant that the game included a treasure trove of heroes. The Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and Spider-Man were all featured in this game along with many more unlockable characters.

The story focused on stopping Galactus and several other villains in the Marvel realm. TT threw everything into this game and there are some incredible segments in this game, particularly the mission to Jotunheim and Asgard.

Colour leaps of the screen making the game look like a 1960s comic book come to life. That is the biggest compliment that can be paid to this game...it is a fully fledged comic book brought to game form.

Truly, a masterpiece.
