Let's be up front here, despite Bethesda's attempt at creating a free-to-play game with an entirely new spin on The Wasteland, it ended up becoming another way to push microtransactions to their loyal fans.

That being said, however, Fallout Shelter is definitely a game that's at least worth trying if you're a fan of the Fallout franchise. Instead of trekking through the wastes, you are the Overseer of your very own Vault-Tec Vault. Don't worry though, there are no seedy experiments to adhere to here.

Build your Vault and upgrade it to protect your residents from the harshness outside of your cozy underground home. Using the same "SPECIAL" stats that are present in all Fallout titles, and assign the residents to specific tasks that will help the Vault thrive. Balance the resources in the Vault and set up the residents for romance in order to expand and maintain the Vault's population.

Again, although this can be a short and enjoyable experience, be aware that there are microtransactions within the game and that because it's a management simulation, there really isn't an ending. It's just a new experience for those who enjoy the aesthetic and themes of the Fallout IP.
