10 Best Multiplayer Modes of All Time

Aliens vs. Predator is still regularly played by a few-hundred players every day on Steam despite releasing way back in 2010, and that's a testament to how ludicrously entertaining its multiplayer suite is.

But there's one mode that soars high above the rest - Species Deathmatch, which sorts players into three teams of Marines, Aliens, and Predators, and then tosses them all into an arena to duke it out.

It's a face-melting delight to watch the abject carnage that unfolds as the three sides use their Special Set of Skills against the others. 

And if you want to get really nuts, there's also a Mixed Species Deathmatch, where two teams consist of a random grab-bag of the three species. 

It goes without saying that seeing Marines and Xenomorphs team up to take down a couple of Predators is as hilarious as it is awesome, and lends a unique wish fulfillment aspect to the game.
