10 Best Multiplayer Modes of All Time

6. Manhunt - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was the first game in the hit stealth-action franchise to introduce multiplayer functionality, and while skepticism was understandably high, Ubisoft absolutely knocked it out of the park.

Players take control of trainee Templars at an Abstergo facility as they access the memories of old Templars in order to hone their combat skills, across a series of eight match types which impeccably exploit the series' central stealth and combat mechanics.

But the sure highlight is Manhunt, in which the Hunted side tries to blend in with the environment and crowds of NPCs in order to avoid detection, all while the Hunters try to seek them out, with the sides swapping at half-time.

This is a rare case where both unique teams are just as much fun to play - as the Hunted you had a ton of ways to disguise yourself from sight, while the Hunter had a bevy of means to tease them out.
