10 Best Seasons In Telltale Games History - Ranked
9. Tales Of Monkey Island
The Monkey Island franchise is a rather pivotal one in the lineage of the games industry, and therefore it's got a very passionate fanbase. The series originated in 1990 with The Secret of Monkey Island, from then-beloved studio LucasArts. The developer published a further three games, with the last full release coming in 2000.
Nine years later, Telltale revived the series with Tales of Monkey Island. At that point, Telltale was leading the charge in attempting to revive classic adventure games, and this was a damn fine attempt.
The story centred around classic hero Guybrush Threepwood, who rather unwittingly releases a voodoo curse on the Gulf of Melange and must find a cure alongside his wife.
Tales of Monkey Island released on the Wii and PC as a five episode season, before later coming to other platforms. The series was praised by critics for its charming art-style, witty dialogue, top-notch voice acting, compelling story, and puzzles that weren't quite as obtuse as the classics, but still remained challenging.
The series got better as it reached its conclusion, all in all leaving fans with yet another great Monkey Island game.
