10 Best Non-Combat Items In The Legend Of Zelda
It's not quite as dangerous to go alone if you take these.
The Legend of Zelda franchise has gifted gamers some truly amazing adventures that are full of epic battles, immensely memorable characters and superb soundtracks that keep players coming back for more time after time.
Obviously, a lot of the fanbase remain loyal to the franchise in the hopes of wielding the Sword of Evil's Bane, The Master Sword, as they hack and slash their way through hordes of enemies, tricky dungeons and cinematic boss fights. However, no Zelda title is complete without a host of supporting inventory items.
While some support items, such as bombs, have multiple uses including combat, many of the best items we've ever seen in Zelda games are those that are solely used to solve puzzles, add game mechanics and even give Link on-the-go storage options.
There are very few titles in the Legend of Zelda franchise that can be completed without filling Link's inventory (even if some of the items are good for one location and that's it!) so it's about time the supporting cast were given some of the credit they deserve.
Just for clarification: any items with a combat application won't be appearing, so the Hookshot, the elemental arrows, the rods and various other loosely combat-worthy items will be omitted.
10. Clawshots
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess introduced a plethora of new items and game mechanics to the Zelda series. Whilst still retaining many of the core tools Link simply cannot adventure without, it also put a new spin on a some of the franchise's classic equipment including the Clawshots.
Operating very similarly to Link's trusted Hookshot, the Clawshot is predominantly used to access areas Link was previously unable to reach and grab a few out of reach items. This doesn't sound like much but once Link has access to the Clawshot, it opens up so much more of Hyrule for the player to explore.
Of course, what's better than one Clawshot? Two Clawshots! Towards the end of the game, Link acquires a second Clawshot in the City in the Sky and the player can enjoy some Spider-Man style swinging action throughout the dungeon and gain access to the second round of the STAR Game in Castle Town to play for the Giant Quiver.
