10 Best Non-Combat Items In The Legend Of Zelda
8. Bug Catching Net
From a certain point of view, the Bug Catching Net is something of an unnecessary extra step when it comes to Link catching things to store in his bottles. For example, back in A Link to the Past, the net is required before Link can actually catch fairies and yet every game with this mechanic thereafter allowed the player to swipe them out of the air with the bottle itself.
However, when it comes to actually catching bugs, the net really comes into its own and it very much justifies its existence. The bees Link can catch are a great back up option in A Link to the Past and Skyward Sword's bug catching side quest is a great distraction from the game's obvious drawbacks.
But that's not all as many will remember Link being the highlight of the Gamecube release of Soul Calibur II, truly the pinnacle of the series before it got slow and cumbersome, and every Soul Calibur fighter needs a 'joke' weapon - Link, of course, was given the Bug Catching Net.
It's not exactly overpowered and it looks a bit odd when partnered with the Hylian Shield but the noise the net makes when you land a blow is just gold plated nostalgia.
