3. Hidden Blade - Assassin's Creed

For the titular assassins of the Assassin's Creed series, the ability to remain unseen and to strike unexpectedly is the key to success. Their skills and instincts play a major part in this, but that alone is not enough. Fortunately they're supported by some extremely potent weaponry.

Best of all in the assassin's arsenal is the signature Hidden Blade that they wear on concealed wrist mounts. With good use of this blade the assassin can despatch a foe with virtually seamless precision and without risking exposing their position. This weapon is used for some of the most gorgeous, cinematic moments in the series and a good kill with the Hidden Blade looks seriously cool.

As the series has worn on the Hidden Blade has become even more effective thanks to some extra gadgetry and upgrades. A hook extension, for example, increased the range from which enemies could be despatched with the blade while also giving the assassin a grappling device for use when free running across the city skyline.
