10 Best PS5 Games You're Not Playing
1. Resident Evil 4 VR
Resident Evil 4 was considered so perfect, it seemed impossible for the remake to hold a candle to it. But not only did the 2023 version capture the spirit of its predecessor, it surpassed it in certain regards, thanks to the tighter mechanics and letting the characters talk like actual humans. ("It looks like we're sandwiched, alright.")
And yes, you can play the game on a variety of platforms but the PlayStation 5 version has additional boons that the others don't.
As if the fanbase hadn't been spoilt enough, Capcom released a VR version, exclusive to the PS5. Rather than just slapping the tech into the game, the developers redesigned everything from the ground up, creating an immersive title that's accessible and adjustable. Even though you can pull out or pick up weapons and herbs with applicable hand gestures, sticking with traditional controls is an option if you can't get the hang of the VR set-up. Although Full Motion offers the full VR experience, Comfort Mode accommodates players with motion sickness, allowing Leon to teleport around, so the shaky movement is minimised.
Even though RE4 isn't as scary as other instalments, the horror elements here have been ramped up exponentially. The subtle sound effects and focus on atmosphere makes the presence of a single Garrador or Guadana significantly scarier than facing off against a dozen Ganados in the original version.
The game is already one of the best selling RE games of all time. However, with the PSVR2 hardly setting the world on fire, it's a sure-fire thing that most folks aren't getting everything they could out of Resident Evil 4 Remake.
