10 Best Sci-Fi RPGs Of All Time
8. Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game
While only a year old, your scribe feels 100% confident in naming Colony Ship one of the all-time greats in the halls of science fiction RPG history.
Colony Ship takes place on an eponymous Colony Ship, taking a civilization of humans from Earth to its destination of Proxima Centauri. This trip takes 400 years, and the unlucky sonuvagun you play as has been born right smack dab in the middle of that trip. Born too late to remember Earth, and too early to know Proxima, you have no choice but to figure out your place in the sprawling space-born civilization that has sprouted up on the Colony Ship.
What makes Colony Ship one of the greats is the worldbuilding. The way that Iron Tower studios has accounted for every worldbuilding question as to how human society would develop on a sprawling but fragile spaceship is nothing short of impressive. Add to that some brutal but fair gameplay, indicative of the genre, and you get a real winner.
